This picture, was just taken, in my shop on May 20, 2011.
It also shows the way cool recently painted bathroom walls.
Hello from me, Doz.
Allow me to introduce myself - I have been an artist
since I was 5 years old. It was then, to deal with my hyperactivity, that my mom
(also an artist) gave me chalk, crayons, models to build, anything creative to
keep me busy.
I am right brain/left brain type of guy. I am passionate about my work and my
life. I love science and art. I also greatly love, with a passion, the
outdoors. I read anything and everything then mix it all up in my head. Once I
have various forms of information - input - I express my creative side with
painting, tattooing, and piercing. I studied many disciplines like art,
advertising, martial arts, gaming, gambling, some computing, painting, stained
glass and more. Then one day it jelled, I became integrated, I am at peace with
myself. Each day I awake and invent a new life, have a plan, throw out the plan,
get inspired and plod along. It is this rich history that made me who I am by
trial of fire and water. I am an evolving type and always find myself going in
many directions.
It is from this well of my life experience that I draw
inspiration for each work of art I create and implement. I will morph again - I
am sure of that. As your tattoo artist/painter/piercer I will give my all to
each design and make it unique to your request. I must add how much I enjoy
and respond to the landscape, clouds, water, Islands and outdoor life in the
Northwest. I have never regretted moving here for an instant. I fell in love
with this part of the United States the minute I arrived here. It was very
fortunate that I had a friend here that was my guide. Prior to my moving here I
took one two week vacation and one single week vacation in 2003 and 2004.
During those 3 weeks I hiked part of the Pacific Crest Trail, which was walking
a 32 mile loop trail "The John Hart Pass", went to Vancouver Island, hiked up to
a peak in Roslyn, hiked up to the peak in "Spider Meadows" in
Wenatchee
National Forest, went to Forks, the Coast and camped, the Aquarium and more.
Since then I have visited Whidbey Island, Vashon Island, lots of hikes, trails,
Discovery Park, all the parks in that area and more.
I mention this to let you know how excited I am to live here.
Now rustle up your passions, your inner soul, spirit, dreams and let me convert
them into a great piece of skin art. Give me, the artist, some real estate on
your body to design and build on. The request for an awesome design - the size
of a "Quarter" - is unrealistic. Take at least a 2" x 3" area and give me a
chance. Show your desire for a nice piece - make an appointment to consult - it
is FREE - bring some visual printouts, books or sketches, and we can go from
there.
It is important to support small local businesses, like me,
also like I do. In the summer for sure I go weekly on Saturdays to our "Farmers
Market" - here in Redmond Washington - and buy locally produced goods.
These are hard working, rambunctious, thinking, dedicated folks and characters
like myself that work hard. None of us will be "fat cats", we are self
employed because we produce real products on small scales to enhance other
people's lives. You will engage in a much livelier exchange and
conversation than at a Wal-Mart's, a Home Depot, or any chain. And while I
am on the topic let me say - to all of you - don't be afraid to chat, don't get
offended if you are not pampered or scammed, be human enjoy a little scuttlebutt
conversation, "have an opinion" - and admire the "other person's" opinion.
It seems to me that after a sentence or two - one party clams up - you mean to
tell me with your life experience, your college education, your upbringing -
that you cannot think of something to say? Great your vendor with" Hi- how
the heck are you today?, are you loving this weather? are you happy to be
self employed? tell me about your goods. Screw the TV set, the
screen that makes you watch how other people live, instead be the person on TV,
adventure out doors, smile, engage the young and the elderly, there are tales of
old that will guide your tomorrow. Forget the clocks, time, "windows of
this or that" recapture your souls, they are real. Be happy without
medication - that means eat well, exercise, get outdoors and watch the sky.
You won't see an "Eagle" in Target. You won't see a coyote in
QFC.
Wake up to our fantastic planet. Un-numb yourself. Help someone
move, fix a sink, fix a car, bar-b-queue, engage. Screw TV, that's all I
got to say for now. I say it with love, that you may know -- slaving for
money - will never make you happy.
I send you all love and peace, I ask you to look at the sky often, not just the
ground.
Lift your glass to "Drink to the Cosmos", where we all come from and, where we all
shall return.

Doz - after two micro-brewed beers in La
Connor.
I am a light weight when it comes to drinking.
I am going to leave a
mark in time, in space, in energy on the fabric of humanity - like a secret
weave comprising a silken skin. Energy and the tattoo man are one and the same.
Like a Raven in his dark place, with his collection of shiny things, the glint
of the tattoo man and his shiny needle dipped in ink, are an enigma. The eye
sees the needle, sees the mark on the skin, turning his head sideways like the
Raven - he takes pause, then takes his "claw of steel" and
scratches........"Doz"
